Relaxing

Many of our guests visit to enjoy the peace and quiet and just relax. Whether it’s sitting on the deck listening to the birds or watching the stars at night, or sitting in front of the cosy warm fire with a glass of your favourite wine, Araluen Park Cottages is the perfect location for taking a break.

Feed the Alpacas

At Araluen Park, we use the Alpacas to manage the grass in the paddocks. They are extremely intelligent and social animals and most have excellent temperaments. Let us know if you want to feed the alpacas or give them a pat.

Bird Watching

There are over 100 species of birds that live on or frequently visit the property. From the friendly king parrots that visit the bird feeders hoping that visitors will give them some birdseed, to the elegant white-bellied sea-eagles passing overhead on their way to roosting sites in the neighbouring forest. There is a wide range of bird habitats on the property catering for species that are common to some species that are rare and endangered.

Guided or self-guided walks

With over 40 acres of mostly native bush on the property to explore, take a walk to experience the local native flora and see some of the native birds and animals. We can tell you where to go and what to expect, and can also accompany you on your walk to ensure you optimise the experience. For the more adventurous, extend your walk into the nearby Colquhoun Forest along a variety of well established trails.
