The ‘Southern Lights’ from Lakes Entrance

The ‘Southern Lights’ or ‘Aurora Australis’ is a naturally occurring phenomena associated with an increase in solar winds and geomagnetic activities. The lights of the Aurora Australis are concentrated in a ring centered on the earths magnetic pole, and can sometimes be seen from Lakes Entrance. Unless the Aurora Australis is particularly strong, these lights may not be visible to the naked eye, but modern cameras can ‘see’ and record these lights. The photos following have all been taken by us from Lakes Entrance over the last year or so.
